On Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at approximately 2236 hours, patrol deputies were dispatched to a residence on Foster Dr. in Scottsboro in reference to a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male subject suffering from a gunshot wound outside of the residence. The male subject was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel. Deputies then notified the on-call investigator, who responded to the scene.

The subject's body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to be conducted. The deceased subject was identified as Anthony Eric Blansit, 37, of Scottsboro.

On Monday, October 7th, 2024, Robert George Walsh, 57, of Scottsboro was taken into custody at Marshall County Sheriff's Office and charged with Murder. Walsh was booked into the Marshall County jail and is being held with no bond pending an Aniah's Law hearing before a judge.
